Established in 2005 by Melissa McIntosh, Minc Interiors is a local residential interior designer and commercial interior designer team serving Fayetteville, NC and Wilmington, NC with a national and global edge. The Minc Team that has created interior spaces throughout the Southeast U.S. — and in locales as far away as Japan and Africa. Woman-owned and a NC HUB Business based in Fayetteville (Fort Bragg), N.C, Minc Interiors specializes in creating visionary interiors — “from concept to completion” — for government, corporate, healthcare, hospitality and luxury residential clients.

“Turnkey” is our M.O. No longer will clients have to go from store to store, or write multiple purchase orders to different vendors. Minc does all the legwork to transform spaces.

Our Interior Designers


President/Lead Interior Designer


Melissa McIntosh has been practicing interior design since 2000. She graduated with honors from Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C., with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design.

Melissa practiced interior design in Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C., before moving to Fayetteville after marrying John McIntosh in June 2004. In February 2005, she started Minc Interiors, and began traveling all over the Carolinas, designing commercial, hospitality and residential projects. Melissa is an allied member of ASID and an associate member of IIDA. She is originally from Hope Mills, N.C., just outside of Fayetteville.

Humble and proud of her Southern heritage, Melissa believes in quietly giving back to the community she loves. As a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club of Cape Fear, she has been involved in a number of philanthropic projects. She also has served on the Board of Directors for Community Concerts of Fayetteville, the region’s longest-running arts organization.

Fun Facts: Melissa loves adventure sports, including scuba diving (since age 12) and parasailing. She also has a green thumb.


Chief Operating Officer


A native of Star, N.C., John McIntosh studied at N.C. State University and Haywood Community College with a major in Wood Products. Originally on a career track in the lumber/timber industry, he married Melissa Wilson (McIntosh) in June 2004 and moved to Fayetteville, N.C., where he’d work in sales for Cape Fear Harley-Davidson for four years. John’s known for his eye for detail and commitment to excellent customer service — assets that he brought to Minc. He established systems and best practices as Project and Installation Manager, and now works as Chief Operating Officer for the growing company.

John also is an accomplished musician. He performs on guitar for Manna Church, and also is a talented pianist. He also claims the tuba “many, many moons ago.”

Fun Fact: His distinctive red beard won him a spot in a feature article about the bearded trend in The Fayetteville Observer. In the Minc office, we tell him he looks a bit like country superstar Zak Brown.


Vice President of Sales & Marketing


Janet’s eclectic career began as a roving newspaper reporter, covering everything from celebrity interviews to fashion, from East Coast to West. She ultimately became a magazine editor in Washington D.C., and published and co-owned a high-end lifestyle magazine in Sarasota, Florida. For the latter, she was responsible for building and coaching sales and editorial teams — and developing successful community partnerships and events. Janet’s career ultimately crossed over into the marketing and social media arenas. She’s led teams to national and international awards for original marketing campaigns, has written and produced TV commercials, and worked on music videos for Nashville recording artists.

For all her “wanderlust,” Janet holds a special place in her heart for finally returning to her hometown of Fayetteville, N.C. She was long intrigued by the vision and mission of owner Melissa McIntosh and Minc Interiors, which she calls “a marketing dream.” Janet is the original cheerleader. For her, business always comes down to building and nurturing relationships, and delivering memorable experiences.

Fun Fact: While jugging media and marketing work, Janet graduated near the top of her class at Northern Virginia Security Academy and then worked part-time as a private eye with her late husband, breaking cases in Washington, D.C., New York City and San Juan, Puerto Rico.


Senior Sales Executive


A native of Fayetteville, N.C., Summer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from East Carolina University.

Upon graduation, Summer returned to her hometown and began a career in sales. In 2006, she joined the Minc Team. Summer’s expertise includes working with a multitude of government projects on Fort Bragg. She’s also been instrumental in securing interior design projects for a variety of corporate and healthcare clients.

Summer is known for her knowledge of furniture and design, including the latest styles and upcoming trends. She is a former Miss Teen Fayetteville and Miss Fayetteville Dogwood Festival.

Fun Fact: Summer is an accomplished tap dancer.


Sales Executive


Janet Efird Carter excelled for 25 years in advertising sales for The Fayetteville Observer/Fayetteville Publishing Company prior to joining Minc in September 2016. She specializes in corporate accounts in Fayetteville, Pinehurst, Wilmington and other key growth areas of southeastern North Carolina. Janet is a born and bred Tar Heel – and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Janet is an avid gardener and wine enthusiast. She and her builder husband, Vann, are pet parents to rambunctious Golden Retrievers, Tango and Lillie. They enjoy their homes in Fayetteville and Holden Beach.

Fun Fact: Janet has participated in four Avon Walks for Breast Cancer, one in New York City and three in Charlotte. The 39.2-mile walks are done in two days. Her teams have raised tens of thousands of dollars for the cause. Janet walks in memory of her mother, Ruth, and friend Leigh, who both lost their battles with breast cancer in 2003.


Sales Executive/Interior Design Assistant


A native of Fayetteville, N.C., Kathryn earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Interior Design from Meredith College in Raleigh, where she volunteered with a number of clubs and committees. Kathryn developed her love for architectural and design materials while at Meredith. At Minc, Kathryn excels at overseeing the firm’s extensive design library and designing color boards and presentations, as well as providing general support for our Team.

Fun Fact: Kathryn was once an extra in a movie starring Hilary Duff, filmed in Wilmington, N.C.


Design and Projects Facilitator


Liz Bruce brings nearly four decades of interior design experience to Minc Interiors. This national VA Interior Designer of the Year is known for her healthcare design expertise, not only for the Veterans Administration Medical Centers, but also for Baylor Health Care System and Presbyterian Healthcare Services. She also served for eight years on the full-time faculty of the Art Institute of Dallas. Liz holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design from the University of North Texas and a Master of Arts Degree in Perceptual Psychology and Integrated Studies from the University of Texas in Dallas.

Fun Fact: This Texas native is affectionately known as “The Pioneer Woman” because she lives in the country, raises chickens, and grows her own vegetables, fruits and herbs for cooking. Liz even churns her own butter! A self-professed “Tree Hugger,” Liz adds, “I also do the Audubon Bird Count every December, which involves me getting up at 5:30 a.m., suiting up to meet whatever weather we have … driving to my pre-chosen observation sites in my assigned eastern Cumberland County areas, and tromping through woods, brush and swamps until about 11 a.m., all by my little lonesome.


Interior Designer, Level II


Katie earned her Master’s of Architecture degree in 2013 from SUNY Buffalo, where she participated in a Barcelona Study Aboard Program and also gained experience with Habitat for Humanity. Katie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. She also gained design experience working as an intern for two residential interior design firms. Katie’s detail-oriented mindset and love for creative design has brought her to Minc Interiors.

Katie and her husband, Robert, and their dog, Hero, make their home in Fayetteville, N.C. The couple enjoy being involved at Manna Church in Fayetteville.

Fun Fact: “Katie’s Cookies” are the stuff of legend around the Minc offices. The chocolate chip are especially good, and we’ve been thinking maybe an internal Katie’s Bakery in the near future …


Interior Designer, Level I


Megan Callagy has known since childhood that she’s a creative soul with a passion for building and design. “I love problem-solving and putting together all the pieces of the puzzle,” she says. A native of Durham, N.C., Megan graduated in 2009 from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts with a Concentration in Digital and Painting. In 2012, Megan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham. Megan has extensive experience in hospitality and residential interior design. She loves to travel, especially throughout Europe. Favorite cities: Florence, Rome, Amsterdam, London.

Fun Fact: Megan once kissed a walrus named Duke at SeaWorld, and Duke is her favorite sports team.


Luxury Residential Design Specialist


Long known for creating beautiful interiors, Faye Riddle is an established talent with an eye for detail and quality. In 2016, Faye and Minc entered into a work alliance. The result: an expansion of Minc’s Luxury Residential Division. Faye’s recent residential design projects include: a re-do of an ’80s home in Charlotte to best suit a minister, his dentist wife and their three children; a rustic, contemporary home in the North Carolina mountains owned by a retired couple from Fayetteville; a remodel of an Ocean Isle bungalow; and a Country French-inspired manor in a celebrity-studded area of Pinehurst. Faye also wears another professional hat as an award-winning agent for Coldwell-Banker Advantage. She and her builder husband, Calvin, have two grown children and a black Lab named Bella.

Fun Fact: Faye drove a school bus while in high school — Big Yellow #87 for students at South Harnett Elementary School in North Carolina.


Office Manager


Known for her bright smile and sense of humor, Cindy keeps our offices humming. Her accounting skills also highly valued, and she exhibits grace under pressure. Cindy’s background includes work in the banking and accounting industry prior to joining the Minc family in 2006.

A Navy brat, Cindy was born in Norfolk, Va., but also has lived in several places in — Long Beach, San Diego and San Francisco (where she completed cosmetology school). Cindy also lived in New Orleans. She now resides with her family in the Gray’s Creek area of Fayetteville, N.C.

Fun Fact: Cindy has many fond memories of living in California and graduated from San Pedro High School.


Our Core Installation Team has more than 50 years of combined experience. This group of hard-working individuals is certified for many manufacturers’ products, including Kimball, Trendway and Paoli. Their knowledge and diverse skill-set ensure that clients receive the highest level of service and accuracy.
